Walmart drops F bomb on 30 million fans

Big snafu on the Walmart Facebook page today! The following post went up to the corporate giant's more than 30 million fans today.

So what happened? Was it a hacker? Maybe. Interesting that the post was made from Rogers, Ark. That's a hacker in their own back yard. Or was it something else... possibly a page admin thinking they were posting as themselves, when they were actually posting as Walmart?

Us PR folks put ourselves at risk for making this major mistake all the time. While I've never made a personal post under one of the Facebook pages I administer, I certainly have posted under the wrong Twitter account before. When you're an administrator on four or five Twitter accounts and as many Facebook pages, mistakes are easy to make.

Thankfully, the post was taken down in about five minutes. But not before it garnered almost 5,000 likes and countless hilarious comments.

And then of course, there's the third and potentially plausible theory-- that Walmart really was wondering what the f*ck Facebook was thinking. (wink, wink)
